Hi guys:
I am trying to have a key made for my trunk and the idiot locksmith near me can't find a blank that will fit I find that hard to believe. That said I am supposed to have a Wilmot Breeden latch but this is a UK company and is no longer in business. I am attaching two pictures of my latch to see if anyone has the same type and can tell me where to find a blank for them.

last time i checked they were the same blanks as utility cabinets for trucks, cages in vans....etc.

Fred & Kyle:
Unfortunately this one is British Made and due to interference with the license plate frame I need to stick with this one. The keys have to be ordered and printed with the tumbler so they can be re-keyed.

Fred is funny you say that I tried one of my school cabinets and it goes in well but they cannot make the wafers inside to imprint the blank.

I am now waiting for a key ring with 80 different keys which are for this type of latch and I will need to try all of them until I find a match then will cut the blank by the matched key. Small things sometimes become federal projects

I bought new hood latches for my car. I did not install the hood pins, but made it look more original. I lucked out because my new hood latches key matched my existing trunk latch I got from Vern. The folks at Finish Line, told me that there is about 3 different key patterns when they ship, you get the luck of the draw.

Did you say the magic word: VERN? Is he still around, I seriously gave up on contacting him. I think he is pissed off with me for me requesting a refund for my hood props more than 10 times in a year's time. I think he has been very busy with the "other" business.
LOL. I will keep you posted of my trunk latch progress.

Hmmm. Vern... You have to remember he holds the "keys". You can never ever accuse him of anything, or demand. If you do you risk having him ignore you. So, if you say that you want a refund... you've already crossed the line. Now if you request that he send you a new part for one which was broken or somehow does not fit, then he probably will get back to you. I would never expect to get any money back from Vern.
