Sidepipes are a big red flag for vehicle inspection here (SK). I can try stuffing stainless pot scrubbers in to try and reduce the volume, but looking for ideas - short and long term.
Looking at swapping out existing mufflers and going to Magnaflow 4" O.D. SS mufflers with 2.5" core. I have MF system on Infiniti FX35 & like the sound as it's mellow - less harsh (at least to my ears) than FlowMasters and some other 'performance' mufflers. Also have reason to believe they flow pretty well. MF's 22" body (28" overall) is p/n 10436, and 18" body (24" overall) is p/n 10426. Heat shields on existing pipes may need to be re-curved slightly to fit slightly larger O.D. but pretty sure they'll work. Anyone have any experience with MF mufflers on side pipes? Volume / tone before & after?
BTW, 1991 West Coast Cobra with 460 CI and mild Lunati cam. Sidepipes connected to headers with 4 bolt flange.
