They look OK, how do they fit? Did you drill holes and mount them yet? Photos?

Hey Xack, they will fit OK. Thanks again for all the dimensions. I mocked them up already. The body shop is mounting them this week with the goal of no visible screws (that should be fun). I'm also installing large air duct collectors behind each small grill to have functional brake cooling ducts in the future if ever needed. Found the ducts at Backdraft racing. My grills will get a gloss black to match the gloss black stripes on the body and hard top. The flat black is a good idea for the cast grills to hide the surface texture imperfections. The surface of the machined parts should look fine in high gloss. Could also polish them until they look like chrome. We'll see soon.

Are you going to drill and tap the fixture back, then cut the screw head off and use it as a stud? Are you going to expose the metal on the front surface? I see your expensive machined grilles are superior to our poorer quality Vern designes... I'm jealous.

I am all set, ended up designing them in 3D and milling them all out of billet aluminum.

They look very good. I have my set of cast grilles, but there may be others looking for ones like you've built. Any plans to put these into production?

No plans for production, strictly prototypes, the whole damn car is a one-off prototype. Sure wish I could fit a mill in my garage, I would never, ever leave. 😁

Guys, Keep checking my photo gallery for updates. The oil cooler grill and fresh air grills are now finished. I am working on the radiator grill now that is taking a lot more time than expected. Kinda like my whole friggin car.
The tool path program indicates it will need 30+ hours to run on the mill.
