Good afternoon Guys,

I recently purchased a West Coast Replica & im trying to find out a little more information about when it was built, where, what to look out for. Where to find parts etc. Any Help you could give would be much apprecaited. I noticed WCC has closed down also. Thanks for all your help.

Here's a start: West Coast Inc. the Company who produces Cobra Kit Cars

It is my understanding WC purchased the necessary tooling, jigs, moulds, etc. from Kellison, where it had been manufactured and sold as the Stallion.

Hello Brando:
Welcome to the forum, my suggestion is to deal with one of the WC dealers, particularly Perry Adams he is in Syracuse NY and great person to deal with. I have tried tirelessly the website without much results. I also understand that a man by the name of Painter has taken over but I have not been able to deal with him yet. I will PM you Perry's number.

Hey Brandon, welcome. Post as many pics in your gallery to help us guess the vintage of your build. The wcc has an interesting history. My car is an 80's body and a 2004 chassis. My version of a fossil fuel eating "Hybrid"

The company wcc seems to be out of business but their are a few of us here that can help with parts from our experiences

Yes welcome. I am new too having purchased a WWC a couple of months ago. Awesome car, but I hope mine stays cool enough in a Michigan summer?? Will see in a few months.

How hot is a Michigan summer? It can't be that bad. If it has the kind of coolant plumbing from Vern's design it'll have trouble being able to get rid of air pockets, Also I had a fan was a pusher installed as a puller. Depending on your engine mods, if you have the aluminum radiator and not those prior mentioned issues, you should be OK. I installed an Edelbrock water pump which has reduced flow at low RPM. I had to reduce the pulley size to pick up idle RPM's on the pump.

Temps in my area of Michigan might hit 90 degrees 6 to 7 times per year.
So, not too bad. However, reading about all the heating issues from these cars has me concerned.

I already found one problem where previous owner was using VDO sender with Auto Meter gauge. When I first bought car, gauge read 190 degrees consistent.
Switched gauge and sender, now 180 degrees. Did that over Christmas holiday, so feel a little better.

A big block needs a little more consideration and if you add performance items in the mix, crossing that threshold is more likely. Above everything you need water flow and air flow and a large enough or efficient radiator. Cooling really should not be a problem even in hot weather, of course, given that there are no inherent motor build issues like gaskets, pumps, etc...

If you have a good fan and its shrouded properly on the fan side that will go a long way to preventing overheating problems. I've been around and around this topic as I ran into overheating when I cranked mine up the first time. The number one item was fixing the fan to correct the issue. Second was probably making sure the system was free of air pockets.
