Spare tire in the boot?

I was making a plan for a fuel tank to expand off the "shelf" and down into the trunk. I mocked up a cardboard "tank" and I was looking at the thing and realized if I modified my gas tank in that manner I'd never be able to put a tire in there. As it is, there is not enough room for a front tire, maybe a donut.

Does anyone have any input on if you'd ever have a spare tire for your WCC?

I'd appreciate the feedback.

Update:

I have ordered the tank. I would like to get a spare tire that will fit. I'm thinking I'll have to get a donut collapsed which I'll need to inflate when and if I have a flat.

Any recommendations? I'm looking.

I asked the same question a couple of weekes ago in another thread. Someone said they use a collapsible spare from a Lincoln. Did'nt give any other info but any year or model should bolt up.

I was particularly interested in WCC's. As you know, the trunk is much different than a Shelby. I'm thinking that none of the WCC owners keep anything like a spare in then boot. I'm customizing my gas tank and it'll take up more room where a spare would be, as per my photos. I may have enough room if it's a collapsible version and I stand it up somehow. I'm not sure if I'll do that or just keep a repair kit of some type, Slime, inflater and/or a 12V electric air pump.

I did see the post and photos of the Lincoln and looked on the web to find a tire from Goodrich or Good Year to see if I could find one to buy. I did not have very much luck looking on the web.

Maybe I need to go back to the thread and see if I can get the photo owner to give me a hint where to find something.

Hi Xack -
I've seen really small inflatable spares in cars like the Ford Fiesta and the like! If the rim is different, you may be able to switch for a rim that will fit! Otherwise carry a can of 'tire inflate' and carry a 'AAA' card in case you would ever need a tow ;-)
