I was looking at the "Race Pump" for 385 series engines. Kind of pricey, but more efficient...

I am doing the opposite I am installing a Carter electric to avoid the fuel percolation, specially during hot days and after a spirited run. I had a 67 Volvo GT which I upgraded the carbs fro SU to Webers, the best thing I did was the up grade. JEGS has it for $115.00 but you need to install a safety switch which is operable with the ignition switch.
I will post a picture of the one I got.

Race Pumps... Online just look up them as a keyword in Google. I have done a little looking on this and they require regulators and good filters in order to work. They save on HP while they are expensive to install.
Race Pumps
I'm still just thinking about this one...

Lou,
That looks perfect. How has the performance been with the carter pump? Have you tried it during hard acceleration or cornering?
Xack,
Thanks for the info. I will also look into that.
Thanks for the help guys.

No problems what so ever, flawless performance!! I had it also on my 1967 Volvo 123 GT when I upgraded to Weber 45 carbs.

Mohuska,
I habe a Genesis 427 s/o block. These are cast from the original 1960's s/o block molds. The only changes Tim made to these molds were increasing the cross over webbing and changing the crossbolts from 7/16" to 1/2". These engines do run hot. I combatted that with the use of Evans coolant, (a waterless, non-pressurised system used by Nascar) as well as their waterpump, which turns approx. 20% faster. This coolant is not compatable with water! Evans boiling temp is over 300 degrees, no water no rust. I also use a two stage cooling fan out of a 1987 Ford Mustang 5.0. High end speed 4500 cfm! I no longer have a cooling problem.
