Are your front fans pulling air from the back of the radiator or are they front mounted and pushing air thru the radiator?

Vern's aluminum radiator setup and shroud. Fan in back (Engine Bay) pulling. I changed the fan and the motor. Slightly bigger motor with "S" blades from Flex-a-lite. I used the controller that varies the fan speed over heat range. There is a huge difference in air movment.

the kellison/vern setup has a lot to be desired, do you have dual fans? no shroud?
take a look above the Rad. is there a gap there?

changing the dual fan set up will help. adding a shroud will help even more. blocking the gap above the rad. will make all of the air, coming through the grill, go through the rad core.
lincoln mark VIII or ford taurus fan assemblies work really well, or, you can do a custom, i did a custom flexlite with made up shroud..

I decided to go with a custom Griffin radiator and I built a simple mount to hold two fans and they are SPAL brand pullers.

Currently my fans are NOT shrouded on the back side of rad. I have about 70% core coverage with 2 fans and no shroud. When adding a shroud, installing rubber flapper vents in the shroud are common to improve airflow through core at cruise, improving efficiency of the system. I wll post an example.

Here are the SPAL twin 12 inch fans with shroud. The shroud has rectangular flaps above and below the fans that open at cruise to allow more air through the core.
