I'm still waiting. He had to order bushing material but the metal work is done. $280.00 for the two.

Hi Guys, nice to see a few new WCC owners signed in here. Yes the Upper rear trailing arm is the issue and the way the frame bracket was designed. The original WCC and previous Kellison frames were set up for mid-size Ford Car 9" rears (this means 70's T-Birds/Torinos etc). But when these upper trailing arms became expensive or harder to find, Ol' Vern made up his own arm without changing the frame mount. I know this because I have an extra early 90's WCC frame (with correct trailing arm set-up and my build is a 2004 frame which uses the REC TUBE trailing arm debacle. Call Suicide Doors they have a great web-site too and measure yours before you order. So what this means is to get proper rear susp. travel, YOU MUST REPLACE the RECT. TUBE arms. My chassis has an OEM diff bump stop that is only "art work" since the rear axle comes nowhere close to stopping there due to the arms fouling the chassis. Hope this helps. Just another Vernism to fix.

Bill, have you verified they fit? because the application Spohn says they fit is not what the rear susp. is from. spohn says 1972-1976 Ford Torino and Ranchero
all the literature says our cars are 77-79 full size ford. t-bird cougar, ltd II.
i don't want to be a debbie downer, if they fit.....they fit...but. i don't want to be the first guinea pig

Yeah, this took me a little while to figure out. I have a 73 Ford Torino shop manual that shows all the models that share this arm. What confirmed it for me was I took a pair from a Lincoln Mark IV rear axle ( from an old wcc chassis) that is same as Torino and Tbird and they plugged right in. I need to put new bushings in them but they fit. So if these Spohn guys built to OEM shape, they should fit. Im just happy I was able to toss the Vernism uppers that where junk. The shop manual pages here. These upper OEM arms are very tough to find now.

My car was first registered in 1991, but I don't know when it was produced by Vern. The upper and lower arms appear to be Torino arms. The lower arms show welds where it appears the arms were modified to a different angle. I haven't measured the length, but hopefully it's close to stock so arms like those from Spohn can be used.

Questions: Does anyone have lower control arms that show signs of welding or other modifications? If so, what kind of grief (if any) have they encountered when getting their cars safety inspected?
