Okay so I thought it was just the old headlights, I upgraded to some KC H4 headlights and yet low beam works perfect and high beam is very dim, almost like it isn't grounded well.

Old bulbs did the same thing I thought it was the highs that worked well till I changed one and it did the same thing as the old ones. Low beams work perfect.

Thoughts? Bad wiring maybe? Not a good enough ground? I would think if the ground was bad both high and low wouldn't work well.

Figured the issue out. The guy I bought it from wired both headlights wrong. And by both I mean they were both wired different and still wrong.

Rewired and now I have brights and lows and since I upgraded the lights thinking maybe they were bad lights I hope for on coming traffic that they are even close to pointing in the right direction because they are very bright.

When you look at the back of the wiring for the plug, mine had the ground going to the wrong location on both headlights. I thought they were both wired completely wrong, but they were both wired wrong the same, but the color of the wires was also different for both... such fun. Here is a diagram that helped me.

I've done at least 4 sealed-beam to H4 conversions and I've never had to re-wire. I'm curious as to the source of this diagram.

I found several diagrams like this on a search for my issue. And this was the exact issue both of my plugs had.
