Anybody running one of these? https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6880-A50

I have been unable to get my remote filter mount to stop leaking. It leaks at the threaded nipples on the filter mount, notwithstanding the copious amounts of thread seal applied by the previous owner(s). It also seems to have a bit of seepage at the adapter on the block as well as the oil filter gasket itself.

I'm fed up with the whole mess and looking at the 90° adapter to put the filter back on the block, facing forward and slightly down to clear the hose from the radiator to the water pump.

I have a remote one as well that leaks some. Of course when I got mine it didn't have clamps on any of the hoses. If you go this route and it works let us know I would gladly switch.

I expect it to arrive here early next week and I'm keen on getting it installed w/o too much delay.

Will provide an update once it's installed and up and running.

I'll see what I can do - things are tight in there, not easy to properly light for photos, and I expect I'll be more focused on getting the job done than documenting it. LOL

Installed the adapter today - it took a lot longer getting the old stuff out than it did putting the adapter in. It's important to have a filter on it before locking it down in final position to make sure you have the necessary clearances and that you can actually R&R it.

Fired it up - there are no leaks that I can see, so I'm happy. No drive though, as rain started just about the time I was ready to roll out of the garage. The weather forecast for tomorrow is looking better, so I'm hoping to get it out and get it warmed up - just to check the oil pressure. Yeah, that's it.

Interestingly, oil pressure at fast idle is about 10 PSI higher than it was before (80 PSI vs 70 PSI). I'm not surprised, given the removal of 3 x 90° elbows, one 45° elbow and about 4 feet of SS braided hose.

I may have to look into getting one of these, it would allow more room to run my radiator hose.

I really like this adapter and would highly recommend it to anyone who does not need an oil cooler. Avoiding all the plumbing, connection points and opportunity for leaks is a great advantage, in my opinion.

It's worth noting there are a number of compatible filters if space is still an issue. Here's a short list of compatible Wix filters about the same diameter as the standard Ford filters, but shorter in length. All have the same mounting threads, anti-drain-back valve, and bypass valve (8-11 PSI).

joey4420: If you're going ahead with this adapter, you may want to check with mln385 (Club Cobra - View Profile: mln385). He has one "new in box" and I would likely have bought his if I weren't: a) in Canada; and b) in a bit of a hurry.

Got one for Jegs, as I had to order a few other things. Of course I still couldn't use my Hose Bones radiator hose, can't get it to bend far enough. So back to a rubber flex hose and hope I can make it fit. Guess I will not be driving it to the London Cobra show this week. Glad I didn't pay to register.
