I have the 460 Engine that did have a 750 Edelbrock Carb. The car came with a 650 NIB so I put the 650 on and got it adjusted. I feel like it is starving for fuel when it gets up and going. If you have the 460 Engine what carb are you guys using. My plan is to rebuild the 750 and put it back on.

I have a 350 rear end which I plan to change out to somewhere around 300-325. Any input would be appreciated. I like to run the car and cruise a little on the highway

I have a 950 CFM Street HP Carburetor Part # 0-82951

Works pretty well on my 460.

I got rid of it all and put on a FITECH EFI throttle body and made adjustments on the side of the road with the handheld controller until it was dialed in. I got sick and tired of messing with it when I went into the mountains and back (5000' changes). Should have done this from the start. The 460 loves it and I never have to worry about re-jetting, off idle stumbles or tip in issues.

really interested on how the FITech unit performs.
thinking of using their 2x4 unit.
are you using the timing control? or no?
are you using an intank pump or using their control unit with the pump inside it

I really like it, it takes a while to learn all the adjustments, but I like it. I am using timing control and the key is setting up your initial timing correctly. I set mine at 10 dbtdc and then locked out the distributor and did the spark advance curve from there. I like the fact I can advance idle to 18 and yet it still hot starts! I did not use the phased rotor but it is recommended. Timing Sync at 2000 and 4000 rpm is important.

I had a return line and used their external pump and all of their tubing and equipment. A buddy and me did a 69 Camaro using the external FCC and it is NOT good. It is really nothing more that the old Rochester units on early corvettes and it vapor locks. fuel pump gets hot, not enough cooling capacity and it starves out. If you could mount it on the front bumper to keep it cool it might work, but I HIGHLY recommend not to use it in a cobra. good idea but you need a huge well vented engine bay and a front mount that gets lots of fresh air. spend the money on a tank return line.

I love the fact I can dial up various AFR's, spark and other variables on the fly without going home and tearing apart carb bowls. Initial setup is key (Idle IAC, idle rpm and AFR) it all builds from there. I had two issues. Cooling sensor was bad and was 30 degrees too cold so it was running pig rich as it never got over 170 on the sensor and fuel cutoff was too low so I was popping after WOT. $24 sensor and plug change and adjusting fuel cutoff fixed both issues.

thanks, yes the size of the unit made me think in tank pump would be better,

without any baffles in my tank it will mean another fuel tank, but thats not an expensive date.
