EFI on your West Coast? O2 Sensor mounting pics?

Hi guys before I put my exhaust back on after my wet sand and buff work I want to mount weld in O2 sensor bungs now to avoid removing exhaust again when I add efi in the future. Anyone already put efi on and do you have pics on how the o2 sensors are mounted using the wcc side pipes ?

an O2 must be oriented from clocking position 12:00 to 2:00, it cannot be horizontal or upside-down, if you don't want to see it you will have to compromise its location

Installed the FITECH 1.5 years ago. I put the O2 on the passenger side just above centerline and on the inside of the pipe just beyond the collector joint. In order to get the sensor to mount I had to notch and plate weld the frame a little and make sure I had room so when I torqued the motor it didn't rub or break off. I will send a picture when I can as I am traveling. It was a "pick your poison" kind of a decision. I did not want the sensor sticking up looking like crap and it needs to be above CL, so notching the frame was the only option. You should get a sensor so you can see how it fits and get the angle right. It took some time. Only other option is to pick a cylinder and I did not want that. No problems with water on the O2 and I LOVE the EFI. Tuning has never been so fun! 3 years ago I changed the fuel cell and put in a return line knowing there would be a day....

Looking up the pipe from the back mine is at 9:30. No way to get it from 10-2 unless you want it pointing up like a toy soldier and a wire hanging off the top. I have not had 1 issue with water shorting it out.

Thanks , makes sense. I get the compromise. My whole car is a compromise, I will mock mine up. Im not completely against the sensors being visible, I was considering notching the heat sheilds to partially hide the sensor if I mount them near 12 oclock position

For me at 12 oclock the problem it is the sensor cable and where to run it and then having it kicked off by a passenger or somebody else. I was able to route the cable under the frame rail and up to the engine bay. I send pics tomorrow I hope. My position is not "ideal" but it is clean. I was taken a little off guard on the sensor size so that's what I did. Stand by

That is my sensor mount. I was really conservative on the space and could have "notched" a little smaller and rolled it a little higher but erred on the side of caution. I was not a big fan of notching the frame at first but there was no other way I could find and that is one thing about Kellison as the frame is stout and in the end it did not sacrifice much. It was a little more difficult than I planned. It is easy to change, "hidden and protected" and does the job. Again, I love the EFI as we go from sea level to 5200 feet in an hour and I dont run pig rich at elevation. It took some time to learn how to tune it but so does a carb! I also have it control timing and I love the fact I can set base advance at 8 and idle at 18 and hot start, and design my own advance curve. It took some time to work out the best advance curve and still playing a bit.
