Just stopped in to say Hello. I purchased a friends WCC recently and have been fixing it up little by little. It is an older build (registered as an 82), but I have known the car for 30 years.
It's in decent shape for the age, and powered by a 509 Chevy.
So far have been polishing and cleaning. I had to get a new gas cap and took the tank out to put a new gasket in for the fuel sender (garage stunk of fuel.) Also removed the push guards and wind deflectors.
Next on the list is a new steering column (ididit), then cleaning up the engine bay.

Nice looking WCC. Depending on the fuel cell, part of the gas smell may be the fuel cell itself seeping.

Thanks.
There was a residue around the fuel sender around the top and on the back. I cleaned it up, but you can almost still see where it was.
This is the tank.

Oh that is a sweet fuel cell.... mine is plastic and seeps fuel.

Just an update. Been doing a bit. New LED lights, mirrors, steering column and wheel, cleaning up the engine, and new throttle cable and return spring.

Mirror and one of the steering wheels I tried. I like the wood one posted below.

New lights and trim rings. Alot brighter than the old ones

And under the hood. Finding an air cleaner that fit was a challenge.

Moved into a new house almost 2 years ago. All work stopped, but I did gain more space. Since I had some time off from work last year I decided to pull the Demon carb off and swap to a Holley Sniper EFI. I can say it runs much better since the swap.

Next items to go are those braided hoses. I also have an issue with one of the back brakes locking up. I'm not sure what replacements for these are. I will have to get a picture and post. I'm thinking of converting to discs. I know its a Ford 9inch axle and that's about it.
