Thats a good question. I once asked Ole Vern that question and he didnt answer. I can tell you my chassis is 3299 as stamped in the drivers side frame behind the front tire. My chassis was welded up and delivered in Fall of 2004. WCC built these cars for just over 30 years. So best guess is just over 300? I visited his shop and estimate it was 2-3 man crew building the kits. So an avg of 10 cars/ year ? Some were sold as kits and some turn key cars. We would need WCC owners with a wide range of vintages to share year of build and the chassis numbers to try and figure it out?..

Hi, I can share my chassis number that is 83CK126.......that can be 83 COBRA KIT serial number 126.
The car was register in 1984. I think that was build in the end of 1983.
From your hypothesis Vern built 10 cars/year.......but mine has 126 serial number in 1983???? Maybe he changed the chassis code system over the years?

Yours is definitely an early car for sure. There were many kits that Vern sold that were never completed. Many unfinished kits are still hidden away im sure all over North America.
We would need a lot of data points from every decade to get a good idea on total number of frames sold. It would really be helpful find a chassis from 2010 or even later. By 2014/15 I dont think he sold a single frame.
