Hi guys. Now that Ive surpassed 1,000 miles and 95 hours on the drivetrain Im trying to find a better solution to help my clutch fluid last longer. Im using a Mcleod Hytob and the Wilwood Master cylinder. Both about 14 years old and working fine so far except fluid boil. But due to the location of the reservoir the fluid just cooks. So fluid lasts about 600 miles and is brown and soon will boil as water content increases with age. Ive engineered heat shields for both brake and clutch master cylinder but its not enough sitting above the header on the WCC cars. Im also running Dot 3 old fashioned fluid to keep the seals in the htob from failing. 2 questions
1) Who has been running Dot 4 fluid (
synthetic or mineral based)in their Mcleod Hytob and for how many years?
2) Who has relocated their clutch reservoir remotely away from header heat to solve boiling fluid (pedal spongy or stays on the floor?)
Feedback appreciated.
