I note some Cobra replicas mount the seats between the frame rails in a dropped pan, essentially mounting them at a level equal to the bottom of the chassis rather than on top.
My car, and I suspect most / all WCC Cobras, has two layers of steel sheet, one at the top of the frame rails and the second at the bottom. Removing the upper steel sheet and lowering / dropping the seat mounting to the lower level would drop the seat at least 3", by my estimation. I'm 6'2" with long legs, so this would probably help a bunch, though I'd likely need new, narrow seats to fit into that space.
Edit: I just saw this on the Classic Roadsters II group.

Question: Has anyone looked into this or actually done it to a WCC?
