I'm still going to do something like this (Photo below), but I'm going to do it next year after this ride hits the streets. I cannot make out from the photo how the mounts are fixed. It looks to me like there are aluminum brackets mounted to the roll bar (screwed in?). I can't make out the details on this, but I hardly noticed it until I zoomed in on it. It's a nice mounting. Notice his 3rd Brake Light too.

Thinking... use Nut Inserts. You could get by with 6-32 screws to mount the brackets.

Yes, Don't get me wrong, but I don't like the clamps. the clamps distract from the smooth line of the roll bar. Perhaps, I can use the clamp aproach but I'd put the clamps on the straight part of the roll bars. Like on the bottom, next to the body and along the top as the curve straightens out of the corner. I may consider clamps if I can find something that has a much smaller bolt hole.
The advantage of the clamp is that it does nothing to alter the strength of the roll bar. Drilling holes may create weak areas which make it collapse on a roll-over. Then again, will this roll bar help you in a roll-over? Or will it fold up like a soft drink can? It may if you drill holes next to the critical point next to the body. Just thinking here....

OK fair enough, I toyed with the idea of drilling the roll bar too but became hesitant that the roll bar would become a pain to reinstall once out with a $350.00 piece of lexan at risk. I just don't think about a roll over, I don't take that risk, I rolled over a Triumph TR6 in 1969 with a roll bar 4times and walked out of that one. Once is enough for me. I have consider, however modifying the clamps also for I am not 100% satisfied with the settling on top of the roll bar either. Will see with what can I come up later down the road.

Lou, It's still great. Removing the roll bar would not be a huge problem. You'd probably need a helping hand with it. I don't want to even think about rolling this car. However, I'm a stickler for maximizing safety. I need some more thinking time on the drilling...
