What a work of art.

Question for U. As a car like this is made so that others may drool over it, are you a part of any local clubs? I'm in the Ventura area and am interested in building/owning a Cobra. I've seen several Cobras gather at a restaurant on Telephone Rd. at Main St. on several Sundays and was wondering if you knew any of them (being a previous Cobra owner) or knew how to contact...

Nuts,
There are 2 clubs in the Ventura area. www.centralcoastcobras@yahoo.com and tricountycobras@gmail.com. Tricountycobras is due to have their bi-monthly lunch this Saturday. It has moved from Tailgaters on Telephone. Contact John and ask him where it is to be held.

Great build. It took a lot of patience, determination and moral support. I hope to build a GT in the foreseeable future, and am inspired by your project. My ERA Cobra has taken me three years to complete and I would expect a GT to be the same. I also have been to ERA's R&D (GT40) shop and discussed these cars in depth with Teddy. My first concern was cost, and after seeing and pricing the RCR kit, there's quite a bit of difference. Tell us what afterthoughts you have about RCR (vs. the ERA GT40), i.e. service, customer support, and general product quality. Good luck and get well.

I would suggest to you that in todays market, a used GT40 is the smartest choice. Now if building one is the fun part for you, then an RCR or ERA are both good choices. You can buy a used SPF or CAV for 75 to 85K with all the goodies, build cost for these would be 100-115

60K for a MK11, 65K for a MK1, add a thousand or so for gulf colors

For me, the build would be fully half the enjoyment of ownership. To build and drive your own car is the ultimate high. To build and race your own car is ever better, and I have done both. I wouldn't not consider building my own car, however now is not the right time for such an expense. Under no circumstance would I sell my ERA Cobra to just build a GT. When the time is right, I'll jump into the mix. Thanks for your response.
