Doug,
Unbelievable ... 1000HP plus in a 'street car', amazing. I remember in 1973 when Mark Donohue was racing the Porsche 917-30 and it had well over 1000 HP and that was a big deal, even for a race car. Now all you need are some creative car guys and a thick check book and you too can be in the 1000HP+ club :D |
To quote another C.C. member.......I think I just wet myself!

Holy Mackeral! Now that is awesome!
I hope they have a very strong rear plastic window, because if that thing doesn't melt it fast, then NASA has a new exterior material for the Space Shuttle. |
Deep Pocket build to say the least.....

Currently for sale on Evilbay...it has been wrecked and is a salvage sale. The seller shows pictures of cosmetic damage, but the tub is well and truly bent. The driver didn't get many miles on before he had a "too much power and not enough road" incident.
And all of the "tuner" stereo stuff inside and electronics are a little out of the normal GT40 range of experience. And please tell me how you will ever get 1200HP to hook up with any tires that are streetable? Seems like a "d!ck waving" contest to me. Will the 1200 HP really go that much faster than 800 in a GT40? Replica/Kit Makes : Superperformance | eBay |
$82 for a salvage title car.... NOT.

You can hook up 1000 hp on these on the street, the question is at what speed. Cheers.
|
It would have a salvage title it has been wrecked, totalled by the insurance company and then bought back from the wrecking yard as a salvage title. I did that with a car I had in high school. Ins Company totalled it, paid me $3000 then I bought it back for $800 and repaired most of it myself ove the next 2 years

For the kind of money the're asking for this car, seems like they should disclose why it has a salvage title and what were the damages to the car....at least I would want to know that if I were interested in buying the car.... David |

Anyone who buys such a vehicle sight unseen and without expert inspection probably deserves the bone job they will get. There is no free lunch, you can't buy a GT40 for that price with those specifications without having some sort of issues. The couple thousand the body damage will cost to repair pales against the cost of the monocoque repair! |
all i can say is wow...........
seeing what damage there is on the lower front fender and also the scuffed rim , what i dont get is it looks like such a minor hit, and yet it caused so much damage to the tub or frame? sorry if thats the case, these cars are to brittle, any little thing and it causes that much damage, what is shows looks like nothing, maybe its just me but i wouldnt buy one knowing that any little thing and the frame is toast. |
