Yes, it is gordys old car. I have upgraded it a good bit, the new motor is a beast. In fact I just took it out for a spin, probably the first time in 6 months and it is really fun to drive, I had forgotten how fast it is. It doesn't have the torque of the 427 but it will wind out so quickly it will get your attention. If the potential buyer of the car does not want to buy the extra wheels I will let you know.

Thanks chuck... If either you or the prospective buyer is willing to part with them, I would love to buy them!

Good luck!

Did someone buy Chuck's CAV GT40?

Did fdjake find a CAV GT40 to buy between $50,000-$70,000?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I think the OP is long gone, but his price range was $50,000-$70,000.

Yeah, like that never happens. Man, if I had a nickel for every time somebody flew in here, blustered, then flew out....

Still here Rodknock!!!!!!

Purchased a car out of CT last week for $57,500. The seller had the opportunity to purchase a 550 Maranello at a great price from a divorce situation. He needed to move fast and we got a deal done.

Small block car with A/C.....Red with white stripe.

For the people here who followed this thread....

Don't EVER let anyone tell you it CAN'T be done. I run TV ads looking to buy distressed property....I get calls from people everyday in situations where they just want to sell FAST...

Years ago I had a meeting with a retired Rolls Royce dealer named Howard Van Bortel....Howard was a GENIUS (literally)
He said something to me that I will never forget...

I asked him how he became the largest Rolls dealer on the East Coast?

He said......"I made sure EVERYONE knew I wanted to buy their Rolls Royces regardless of the situation...and then I made it EASY for them to sell to me."

I buy real estate the same way.....I let people know I want it, and I make it easy for them to sell it.

GT40's are a TOY......A very limited market TOY.....Let people know you want theirs, do what you say you'll do, and follow EVERY LEAD...

My car came from a FRIEND of the owner who saw one of the ads I ran. He passed my contact info along to the seller who had gotten tired of the car. He did EXACTLY what I predicted...He exchanged a car he never drove for one he'll drive a lot more. Incidentally, the car came from a CRAIGSLIST WANTED AD that I ran.

It can be done....If you DO what everyone else is doing....DON'T expect different results.

I'd be happy to share some of the tips I've learned over the years with anyone interested....FOR FREE!! All you have to do is ask! Just to clarify that last sentence....I DO NOT sell anything...No "programs" no guru BS....Just offering free advice HERE via this thread.

I've purchased some really nice cars over the years by simply letting people know I WANTED TO BUY that certain car.....In my experience most people do exactly what you guy's noted in a previous post...They throw out the wanted ad, but never follow through. FOLLOW EVERY LEAD!!!!

This thread is worthless without pics. And unless we see pics it never happened.

That is EXACTLY, WORD FOR WORD what you said when I posted that I purchased ERA 717 for $39K.....

Get some new material......PLEASE.

And I NEVER posted pictures of that car here.....But it happened...It was REAL, MRMUSTANG has the PROOF sitting in his garage.

Stings when you get proven wrong HUH???

Notice the view count on this thread.....Over 1800 views!!!

I say there's a LOT of people here interested in LEARNING how this is done!!!

We'll see....Rodknock has made his mind up....I have a GT40 sitting 30 feet from where I type this.....He has his post BEGGING people not to sell me their car....

Well Rodney......It didn't work....It never does, and it never will. I have REALTORS that BEG people not to sell to me....But the difference is....Those REALTORS aren't writing a CHECK to these people....I AM!!!!

Here's the DETAILS of this transaction...

The seller didn't want anyone coming to his home to see the car....I offered his friend $1000 to act as a facilitator for the deal....He went back and forth with the seller until they both felt comfortable that I was a real buyer. I offered to meet the seller at his local Police Station to view the car, which is exactly what happened. I checked out the car, had the VIN run while we were there with 10 cops looking at the car (there's benefits to BOTH sides doing this at a cop shop) Once we both knew everything was legit we hammered out a price, the money was wired next day and the car was picked up once funds were confirmed. Seamless, easy transaction by a seller that wanted his privacy respected and didn't want to deal with tire kickers. AND....Got a smokin' deal on a 550....Without the Ferrari 550 in this equation there would have been no deal. He discounted the GT40 because he needed space, speed, and a deal with no hassles.

this is standard operating procedure for me in my real estate business....People call me and think it's a scam.....My JOB is to PROVE to them I am a real buyer, with real money....I do this by telling them what I intend to do and them PROVING it to them....I tell them my attorney will call them before lunch time to confirm he has the sales agreement and my deposit check, that attorney has orders (deal breaking orders, as in, if you don;t do this you lose me as a client orders) to call the sellers before lunch and confirm each and every item we discussed. I hand that attorney detailed notes on each property spelling out EXACTLY what I promised that seller. When the seller gets that read back to them by my attorney, and watches each and every item checked off that list....IT BUILDS TRUST.

There are so many nit wits out there that when someone finds a person that is honest and simply does what he says he will do....YOU STAND OUT. You get their attention and they WANT to do business with you.

Look at my ad on Cobra Country for ERA 717.....That car sold in 4 hours with a 428 motor that will need to be torn down and rebuilt or replaced with a short block.....$42,000....WHY??? Because the ad was HONEST. It stood out, the price was right considering what work the car will need and the transaction was great....The BUYER was an honest no BS guy..

Once again I'm being called out by a nit wit....Isn't the first time, won't be the last.

Some folks just don't get it.......And I make a very nice living because of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Dad gave me a bit of wisdom when I was a lot younger and it proved true. "Empty barrels make the most noise." Tom

Yea....You know me so well.

I love comments from people who are completely clueless.

Send me your email and I'll link you to my TV commercials....Call the 800 number on the TV and then tell me when I'm ON THE PHONE with you...What an EMPTY BARREL I am....

Waiting for your contact info....

My guess is you've bought and sold less houses in your LIFETIME than I do in a MONTH!!

What did your Dad tell you about developing opinions about people you know NOTHING about?

Just had a twenty minute conversation with fdjake. I'm not taking sides but he seemed reasonable and very rational. I may have been hasty in calling him an empty barrel. Tom

Just got off the phone with Tom....Mentioned he was from Worcester MA....I gave him the addresses of 2 properties I recently bought and sold there and asked him to call the tax assessors office Monday to confirm the purchase and selling prices along with the length of ownership (2 weeks) He has my name in his cell phone and my number. It's up to him to do his research....But I can promise you ONE THING...

NO EMPTY BARREL HERE....Right Tom???

When you build something on your own with no one EVER writing you a check for ANYTHING...It pisses you off to be told it isn't REAL!!!

Tom's a good man....We had a nice talk.

somebody thinks an awful lot of himself. I'm betting you do seminars. And when I do the seminar I fell empowered. And when I feel empowered I have to jump from rooftop to rooftop. And when I jump from rooftop to rooftop I fall into a party.

Thankfully you're in a part of the universe I will never visit... I learned a long time ago that not everyone will like me and I won't like everybody. I think I found a new #1.

Feh.

There you go calling me a name again. WTF? Post pics or don't. I don't give a flying flip. I thought it would make a nice ending to this thread, using common friendly forum refrain like "this thread is worthless....", but your mouth just runs and runs. And doesn't stop.
