Default GT40 MKIIA Replica

From “ Bring A Trailer "

" This Ford GT40 MKIIA replica is described by the seller alternately as a highly accurate tribute and an authentic, Shelby authorized ?continuation? car. It both looks and sounds to have been built to a very high degree, and though perhaps not quite as special as an original, period build, it?d be nice to have something close to one that you could actually drive without fear of destroying an irreplaceable piece of history. Find it here at Exotic Classics in Syosset, New York for $375k. "

It's a Superformance. Even the VIN # confirms that. Nice car, but you could duplicate a new SPF with same features for half the cost.

You can't put your website in your posts or is that for advertisers only.

Just wondering you ever do a build like a GT X the roadster/coupe version?

Yes.

A Superformance modified with an original GT roadster windscreen is being finished as we speak.

Just a note. All real GT-40 Mark IIA's have full roll cages. They also have the helmet bubble which this car doesn't. Also, the oil tank is all wrong, they were not round and for the dry sump were made so they extended down in to the the area of the fuel tank, cutting capacity on one side of the car. The battery actually went into this area on the Mark I and Mark III street car (LHD). The Mark IIA had its battery move in side the cockpit on the passanger side up into the footwell. On another web site on this car someone asked about the wiper motor. It was from a Boeing 707, was 24 volts but run on 12 volts cutting its speed but Ford felt it would be bullet proof. Talking point back then was the price of the wiper motor, which as I remember was $1500, about $15,000 in todays dollars. Back in the 60's at LeMans, ALL systems had to work on your car at the end of the race. Also, a 4-speed was the transmission in the Mark II's, A and B and the Mark IV's.
