My wife has an Amex. They keep trying to get me to "move up" (I've had a gold card since 1976) but after looking at it I don't get anything more from silver and black than gold, except it costs more.

I started using it a lot more about 5 years ago and the scary thing was how much money I actually spent at the local watering hole.

We just put our pool on a Visa card. They didn't take Amex but the Visa is the United card so I get more miles. Big chunk for an extra $1K.

Actually Ford said around 5000 for the two years as a build number when the GT was announced. As it ended up, less than 4500 built so under the estimate. I wouldn't say that was "overbuilt" or overhyped.

Ford GT final production was 4038.
