You sound like an .... Interesting fellow.

$240 would be an insult for most any clean-title Ford GT, much less a Heritage GT, like Tony's.

I'd be scared to drive it too. They're $250,000-300,000. I'd buy a used Superformance for $130,000 like that red one and not worry as much.
$250-300k for a non-heritage. Tony's car is a heritage. But I hear ya on the superformance gt40. I've been looking at those. I went for a ride in one a couple of years ago, and it really left an impression.

A heritage FGT only generated a bit of $240k. If the market was ascending someone would have snatched that up quickly. Be insulted and call names does't change anything. You are an FGT owner yes? It's amazing how many people are coming out of the woodwork to read this thread. They're not here to see what you have to say either Rodknocker

Now Bernie you're going to keep opening this thread every time I post. You can't help it. Then you're going to read something and be beside yourself wanting to say something but you won't be able to because of some silly arbitrary restriction you've placed upon yourself. Loosen up your collar a little this is just the internet.

Well, the Olympics are next month, the Heritage Edition Ford GT could have been "vaulted" over the bar.

Please post the link to the auction of this Ford GT. I don't believe anything until I see proof. $240K sounds cheap, maybe it had 20,000 miles.

You busted my IPhone spell checker excellent work Rod woohoo lol.

I'm sure it is being discussed on the FGT forum.

Ford only made 4,000, not including these new ones coming. And as you GT owners know, many of them are history. I love them, but the Superformance (or ERA) would make me a whole lot less nervous with all the inconsiderate dingleberries driving on the road. They're a replica and they still make them.

But the GT has power windows, and that's a huge selling point for me.

Guess what, I had an FGT as well. Would you like a comparison with the SPF?

I've driven them all including most of Lance's cars from SPF at one time or another, so just keep talking. You are doing great so far. I suspect that you don't know the crowd here, do you?

😁

Yes, 4038 of them. And your point is well-taken. Mine is just a "common" red GT, and I get more nervous every year, but I won't let that keep me from driving and enjoying mine. But yikes, the increasing prices on replacement parts...

Ya, ya blame it on spell check. I believe ya.

I didn't see the no sale price of $240,000 with that link. But, GT's with 10,000+ miles aren't going to get the big bucks. That's high mileage to GT owners, but represent potential buying opportunities for people like me. Cheapskates.

Huh? I still don't know what you want me to bring? Why are you so grumpy? I'm going to block you pretty soon if you keep this up!

I meant bring the fight if you have one and put it out there...
Substantive facts and collaboration.
I mean no ill will and wish you all the best, really.

I think this clown must be the same dude who went by the handle Luke Warmwater, one of the most prolific trolls in recent history on the Ford GT forum. Constantly telling us all how inferior the FGT is compared to his Superformance GT40. Granted, I really dig his GT40. But the only way for the $hitshow to end is to completely ignore him.

The OP asked a pretty simple question. Maybe we should go back to that?
Just trying to get things back on track here..

GT3: Great car and I could drive it all day every day

SPF GT40: That would be one for weekends, cars and coffee and the occasional weekend race run.

A CAV or RCR?: Ya gotta to to to the track!!

A real GT40?: If you have to ask, well.......

It's pretty simple

Forget the real one. You can't afford it and not even then are they out in the wild.

If you want a civilized car that you can take as needed to the grocery store, not every week, but to get some ice cream stay with the GT3. Heck, it probably even has a trunk you can put a suitcase in.

If you want something that will scare the hell of you on turns, rumble your guts when you stomp on it and need both feet on the brakes to stop from full throttle, can't turn on cold pavement unless you're moving, and can't take a suitcase to the hotel, then get the GT40 (replica).

The suggestion of a Daytona Coupe as a slightly more civilized but equally brutal beast is a good one. Take out the spare tire and you can actually put in luggage for a weekend trip.
