1965 ERA Ford GT40 Factory Build For Sale

1965 E.R.A. GT40 Mk1, Factory built ERA#2066 Black/Black White Stripe package. Semi-monocoque chassis as original, John Wyer wide body (Gulf car style). Center section same as GT#1075. 450 hp Ford Motorsport 347 cid small-block V8 with Weber Carbs. German 5-speed ZF 5DS gearbox as original, custom bellhousing, custom halfshafts. GT40 6-pin drive wheels as original [front 10x16, rear 11.5x16], fitted with Goodyear Eagle 23.5x10.5x16 front and 27.0x14x16 rear. Stewart Warner instrumentation, Air conditioning, heater and defroster, Leather seats as original w/grommets and fitted with seat sliders. Cibie headlamps as original, This 'fabulous Forty' was built by E.R.A. in 2002. Current milage is 4550

Beautiful ERA GT40.
I'd speculate that this ERA being built in 2002 may pre-date the SB100/SPCNS registration process and was registered as a 1965 Ford GT40, which, of course it isn't. The State of CA may never catch up with this car, but if a CA buyer is interested, any CA buyer should probably re-register it via the correct SB100/SPCNS rules. I remember "Morgester", the Assistant AG of CA mentioning an amnesty program many years ago for cars such as these. |

Just for the record, this ERA GT40 has been for sale on the GT40s Forum since April 2016. Originally priced at $125,000. Also, has been listed on BaT (Bring A Trailer) and eBay. More pics here:

I had a GTD GT40 back in 2003 and the A/C was not good enough for the Texas summers as the condenser was back by the engine. My CAV is much different with the condenser up front by the radiator and I had the car out last Saturday afternoon and it was 98 out and I had to turn in down the A/C to low as my daughter was freezing. My car does not get hot inside at all as the bulk head is insulated very well and it has a kick ass 408 stroker in it.....Not sure how ERA GT40s are setup or where they put their condensers.......

Beautiful car.... If it were right drive I would have pursued it and put my CAV up for sale.
Bill's questions and the anticipated answers are key questions in the sales/purchase process for a GT40 as typical ERA GTs use over the counter OEM calipers. |
