Casting cars for "Ford vs. Ferrari" feature from Fox

I talked to a guy who is a consultant to the 20th Century Fox feature now filming with the working title Ford Vs, Ferrari. Matt Damon plays Shelby and Christian Bale plays Ken Miles.

I haven't heard
--any word of the producers searching for cars though it seems they would want to find the GT40 1964 style I saw at Pebble Beach or the J-car replica that was at some racetrack. I don't know if owners of real cars will want to see them thrashed for a movie. On the other hand , then they would be able to say later, "Thats my car in the Monza sequence" should do wonders for your car's value.

--what tracks specifically will be used, though the State of California granted them $17 million in tax credits if they film over 60% in California. One story mentioned San Bernardino--makes me think must be plenty of old airplane hangers at what used to be an AFB there. One could double as the LAX Shelby factory in '65.

So I hope someone out there finds out what tracks and what day shooting starts and tells us readers. Then we have to find out how to be up in the stands....

I know that they have been out at Willow Springs recently.

Here's the counties--all we have to do is identify tracks

For the feature temporarily known as "Ford vs. Ferrari,"a total of 67 shooting days are planned in California, with well over half in regions outside the Los Angeles 30-mile zone, including these counties

Kern
Orange
Santa Rosa
San Bernardino
They are filming some indoors scenes in New Orleans in a huge hanger

California will double for locales such as Florida, Michigan, England, and France. Also read Italy somewhere/
Npw once we find the tracks and film dates, the question is will they let us spectators in if we are dressed in '60s clothes ("dress in period?")? I was let in as part of the audience at Santa Anita when they were filming a TV series but they didn't have a period setting so my clothes didn't matter.

I understand Hillbank got a ‘casting couch’ call for their Daytonas, GT-40s and Cobra roadsters-

Lol! Some of you guys are so brand and label oriented its mind boggling. The only ones profiting are the marketing and PR teams that concoct the pablum that feeds the narratives on both sides.
