GT-40 Mk 2 windshield motor
For those trying to duplicate an original GT-40 Mk 2 A or B, one part that maybe harder to find is the windshield wiper motor. The team cars used the windshield motor out of a Boeing 707, I believe it was out of the Inter-continental modelthese motors were FAA certified and at the time cost around $800 each which is about $8,000 today. They were 24-28 volt motors and Ford thought that run on 12 volts while cutting their speed because of the lower voltage, they would run for ever. If I were looking today, I would start at the Pima Aircraft Museum in Tucson AZ or possibly a better place would be at the following .com usaerospace.com/boeing-707-aircraft-parts-repair-maintance-overhaul-mro/ 731-645-9988 Let them know you do not need FAA CERTIFIED big difference in price. Just a thought
