GT 40 options
OK, I am aching for one of these cars and here is how I am boiling it down:
ERA is nice, but I do not have 2 years to wait, so probably not
SPF is nice and a consideration, but I am a little hacked at my SPF cobra right now.
CAV looks pretty dang good right now.
RCR, I am curious, but don't know that much about the car.
what else is out there?
I am not interested in a used car made by anyone that is outta business,,,,just don't need the hassle.
I have yet to compare the $ in the different models, but I can get pretty much what I want. so that is not that big of a deal.
they are so dang few used ones running around for sale, if I go that way, whol knows how long I will wait.
what say you guys?

I looked at the SPF and inspected the prototype at Snakepit in LI real close and I think they have a couple of years to catch up in terms of development. Now maybe since it was the prototype, it was a bit rough but I had hoped the fit and finish would be at least close to my SPF Cobra. I'm also not too thrilled that they opted not to do the Mark I, which is infinitely a more graceful body style. ERA makes their GT sound almost unobtainable in terms of the wait and the $$.
I love my CAV, especially after doing what I thought the car needed to finish it off. Lower A arms modifications to correct the positioning and geometry of the rear wheels, and of course, a stack of 48IDA Webers; which I finally got to synch properly and figured out the right jetting formula. Takes a lot of fiddling with different jets but once done, they are so sweeet.

I have an early SPF car, and honestly, there are some many things that I am having to do to catch up with the upgrade they now put on the cars....SPF is kinda on the back burner for the 40. I don't really want to be the beta tester for them. RCR is new, and I am coming around, mainly I like that huge roll bar incorporated into the frame. CAV I hear has a nice car and the upgrades they are putting in them look good, so that is promissing. Hey, it took me years to find my cobra....I guess I can wait

Buzz: If it's instant gratification you want, find a used ERA GT. You'll be glad you did. The cars are not onlyt meticulously prepared, you can't beat the support the folks at ERA will provide once you have the car in the barn, be it new or used. They'll even help you find one. I know. I have one of their 427 S/Cs and an early Mk I GT.
