Default 2006 GT price

Hi all

Up here in Canada I saw a 2006 GT in the blue and orange gulf paint scheme at a local carshow

Anyway rumour was he had paid 300K for it (cdn) and if wanted to sell it tomorrow he could get 500K

He also said they stopped production on the GT's is that true??

Said there was only 7 in this colour too

wow

the LAST USA car was on display at Saleen last week as part of the Woodward Dream Cruise 'things to do', it was in gulf colors. Its next stop is Fords Wixom assembly plant for install of engine/drive train and final quality and finish details.

The last cars ( Saleen said 100 cars ) following the above unit are ALL destined for Canada Ford dealers .

I was told that final build will end up to be about 4100 cars , from 1st prodn unit to the last. Someone said they were told at Saleen final tally would be 4038.

The stopping of production on these cars is on schedule with timing originally announced when they started to build them . There was never any plans for a 2007 model and never expected to see a total build greater than 4500 units and was expected to be less .

There are still quite a few unsold with dealers holding out for above MSRP prices, or just hoarding them for their private usage/collection. Of course, there have been some already totaled too due to accidents and a fire at a dealership.

Collectability value in the future : HIGH is my take .

I see one on or two now and then plying the Detroit area streets, rare sightings as most are kept tucked away I guess. Yet at the Dream Cruise, I saw about 12 different ones cruising . It was nice to see them out and about and not garage art. A friend has one that has seen only 400 miles in over 1 yr, pity.

Bill.
