I am looking to start another project as soon as my car sells and I looked at and considered all three of those you mention. The GT40 wins out in the end for me but the GTR was a close second.
If you go with the GT40 make sure you check out Race Car Replicas in Michigan. www.race-car-replicas.com

GT-40 wins hands down for me, because it is an icon in automotive and racing history. And even though it's a replica, to me it pays tribute to what that car and those teams were able to accomplish.

probably the wrong site to get various opinions, however, I would and did choose a gt40. Quite frankly the Ultima is ugly to me,great performance but ugly as hell. The GTM is up in the air as so few have been finished that they are hard to judge, but the ones I have seen pics of are pretty. The 40 is just classic however and fits my style better.

There is quite a difference in price if that matters.

From what I've seen:
GTM's are being finished for around $40-50k
GT40's are around $65-$75k
GTR's are around $85-95k

$40,000 difference between the GTM and the GTR can make you or brake you.

Have you thought about a Noble or an Atom? What do you plan on doing with this car? What are your goals?
