Default My new RCR gt 40 is done!

I just finished building an RCR GT40. This is truly an unbelievable car. I have really enjoyed the build. I used a ZF transaxle, An Aluminum 8.7 deck 302 drysump short block with Yates heads and Webers. We used Billit rods and crank, and custom diamond piston. I am using a mcleod Magnum Force clutch that is only 8 inches with a billit aluminum spoke flywheel. The car came with a 6 point cage and Wilwoods all around (6 pot front 4 pot rear) I am running 17's for the track and 15's on the street. The car is a rocket! My thanks to all that helped me through this project. See you all at Run and Gun!

WOW is about all I can say!! Very nice indeed. You did a real nice job on all the different combinations, color, rims, decals, etc. I wish I had that talent.

Good Luck!!

Another beauty. Is it too much to ask a general budget to get one of these turnkey like yours? Realistically what is the expected cost to get it to that level?

Sure beats the heck out of a Lincoln 4 door convertible with 20 inch spoke wheels.

Cashburn, You can have a basic RCR built for around 80k. If you add the ZF gearbox, bad a$$ engine and all the extra's, you will easily spend another 40K on top of that. It is not the cost of the parts so much as the cazy amount of hours it takes to build a GT 40 with all the extra stuff. (well it is the parts too, 10k for transaxle and 20k + for the engine) My car wasn't less expensive than some of the other options, I just ended up with a lot more car for the money spent. (Thats just my opinion, don't get all crazy!)

Dean,

I don't suppose you'll want to borrow my bucket and dirty water to wash this one with your scotchbrite pad.

The RCR looks great. I hope to see it sometime.

Wow Jim, I forgot all about that! However, you are correct. This one will not get rubbed down with scotch brite when I ding it up!

Thumbs up

Dean, I can't say anything better than what has already been said. I just hope that your hard work on this car winds up
in the pages of the many magazines out there that cover our hobby. This car deserves the coverage and all those accolades.
