I know Dean very well and I can attest that the absolute VERY BEST of all components went into his build. I was also there when he was doing his dyno at the wheels... 630 hp from a screaming 8.5" alum block 302 with all kinds of titanium etc. Nothing was left to chance on his car. Who ever get's this car will probably pay way under the $120K more or less he has invested in it. What should be comforting to any buyer would be Dean's maticulous nature and his insistance on perfection.

A 302 is 8.2" and a 351W is 9.2". It's a tweener block, I believe 8.7" deck height from Dart.

Pretty sure Deans block is 8.700".

BTW, 351w is 9.480" (early) or 9.500" (late).

9.200" is the Cleveland of which many Aftermart blocks are built/based but with Windsor patterns.

Something's been mis-stated. From Dean's original thread:

I just finished building an RCR GT40. This is truly an unbelievable car. I have really enjoyed the build. I used a ZF transaxle, An Aluminum 8.7 deck 302 drysump short block with Yates heads and Webers.

I assume with Yate's heads it's larger than '302' in an 8.7 deck. Perhaps 373 or 380 as suggested.

Dean has a Robert Yates Aluminium block and I am almost certain it is 8.5" deck. I also think he is making about 393 cu. in.. If you will recall his build was very well documented in several issues in Kit Car Magazine a year or so ago.

Also, the Webers have been replaced by Dean with a Dynatek (Dynaformance) CFI/EFI system, the changeover being documented in Kit Car as well.

Thanks for the complements! It really is a great car. Just to clear things up, it
is an SVO 8.7 deck dry sump aluminum block with Yates heads punch to 380 ci with fuel injection and an 8000 rpm redline! It is the fastest car I have ever driven, so far!

I am 6'3 and I have plenty of room even with a helmet. It will make someone a great car!
