The interior is mostly done just four screws for the shift boot and the steering wheel center. Saved original very patina’d floor mat’s from CSX30xx. Had to redo the lift a dots on the mat’s and drill for pins. Started preparing the gas tank for installation mainly the straps that hold it in that’ll go in. I had some du-dads under there. It’s pretty much ready to go with batteries and side pipes.
Prepped the other motor for installation and the other car as well or to come on that front.

Are those the bolts used for the Lemans filler cap on the 289 race cars, too, Jeff?

Paul
That is a great question as its a comp car thing as I know it.
I know 2345 is a smooth chromed unit as are a bunch of them. Most of the 289's were the small cap thus no, however the race cars differed.
With years of neglect, restorations and so few around I would say IDK?
2345 - Nope
3020 = Yes
3028 - Nope
3040 - Nope

Scuffed the tank as I didn’t like the shiny look.
Tank is awesome (Craig Combe) it’s high quality, functional and will last
Fitment is great, looks great now to align and tighten it all up.
Then fender trim and on to pipes.

Getting close to my headers too.
My headers are already made with outside collector. What style collector are you using, inside the body?
I think as far as difficulty outside is the most time consuming, then inside body then inside body with flat flange.
CSX3006 showing the outside version, CSX3016R shows the just inside collector. Guessing, no facts, SAI ran early cars outside as it allowed the side pipe changes to be easier.
I'll snap a photo of the pipes I have, my HTM will be outside, my other car inside...
Outside collector requires in and out a few times. The inside body can be easier and Craig C makes them for a HT car if you wanted a fast forward button.
Planning to go through that process on this platform however mine is more extend what is there as its my last hurdle then gas, battery and drive.

So here is the breakdown
Headers collecting outside require fishing them outside car body thus easy does it. Watch that paint!
Inside slight easier process I feel, more of an alignment less paint issue.
Pictured
Pipes from outside vs inside
Header pipes, as well on the bench together.
I think custom headers can be challenging. I just get it in my thick head, take your time as its going to come out better.
Planning a header outside the body step by step when I start it...
