Anybody want to venture a guess as to what their kit will cost? Maybe a better question is what SHOULD it cost to compete in this market.

I like the look of this car so far and can't wait to see the completed product.

I was told the target price for the kit is around $18,500 and that is what was mentioned in the earlier linked video as well. If it's like the prior Hurricane offering, that would include everything you need except engine, trans, driveshaft, tires, battery and paint.

Well if that's the case then they would sure be on my short list. Thanks for the info! How'd I miss that on the video...LOL

I'm really pulling for Hurricane. This is a spot in the market where more competition is needed and it will have the effect of "raising the bar," which is always a good thing. I can't seem to find the post that has the link with the Hurricane video. Could someone kindly repost that for me?

I tracked the video down this way...
Kcci.com
go to search and look for Nov. 28th, "Hurricane in Lake City".

this is kcci news in Des Monies, Iowa

Saw someone ask about independent rear. Is it an option? This is a must for me.

Was an option under the Arps & Burroughs ownership (I have it) and I'm certain will continue to be offered.

Plus, they feature mounts for dual rollbars. Now how can YOU not like THAT?

dlampe 12-01-2009 05:57 PM

You should probably drive a Hurricane if you are going to sell for them!

Seriously, you should give them a call. They might be interested.

I talked to the new owner and the IRS is definately available and might become the standard option. I had it in mine (the 98 car) and it was a better set up than I had on the Kirkham.

dlampe 12-01-2009 06:58 PM

Sent you a PM.

ratsnst1 12-01-2009 09:42 PM

I priced out there kit fully loaded, IRS, leather ent, 2 roll bars, aluminum firwall, and I think a set of wheels and tires, it was around 26 grand, then add engin, trans and pain, I would love to see a turn key minus kit.

The molds in use by the new Hurricane in Iowa were originally created by Jerry Connolly, founder of Component Craft, located in Bedford Texas in the early 90's. I have personally spoken at length with Jerry about the process he used to create the molds. Based on feedback from Jerry and withstanding some additional research, we are hopeful to comment on which CSX car was used as the donor the coming weeks.
Hmmm . . . . sounds like you've made some progress on HM lineage . . .
