Yes 1037 was off road on Saturday. But it was for a good cause. Operation Comfort is great charity for those wounded warriors.

Larry does that mean Dean and I have to sit at the little kids table during the holidays.

I think they were just going to send one email out to jshel1 and ask him not to tell anybody. They probably figured that was the best way to spread the news fast.

I went here two weeks ago and signed up:

http://www.hurricane-motorsports.com...or_updates.asp

and I got the email.

Whatever customer data (if any) they might have received through the purchase of the tools and fixtures from the SEC would now be 2+ years old, and I cannot see them trying to use that as a reliable database. You can also call them at 1-888-99-Thrill.

Here, its official:

Hurricane 427 Roadster Limited Production Slots Available

LAKE CITY, IA - Hurricane Motorsports today revealed it will make available a limited number of 427 Roadsters prior to the 2010 production release of the legendary sports car. A handful of loyal Hurricane enthusiasts will be able to reserve a prime production slot and be the first to experience the thrill of owning and driving the new Hurricane. Exclusive slots can be reserved by calling 888.99.THRILL.

After months of development at its new Iowa home, Hurricane is now able to grant a limited number of prime slots to the original 122 owner enthusiasts as well as to some of those whom waited over 2 years to purchase a Hurricane 427 Roadster. The company is asking all original and current 427 Roadster owners to submit their contact information on the Hurricane website (www.hurricane-motorsports.com) to receive exclusive information and provide feedback on future improvements and offerings.

The new Hurricane 427 Roadster is true in quality and form to the previous Hurricane. The company is not only using the original fiberglass molds and precision steel frame jigs, but the production is under the oversight of the original production supervisor. Scranton Manufacturing, with its years of steel and fiberglass expertise, has engineered several strategic improvements to the build process in order to deliver an even higher level of quality.

As before, the new Hurricane 427 Roadsters are being offered in various stages of assembly – from a base kit owners may assemble themselves to a turnkey minus (a completely assembled and painted car ready for engine, transmission, and driveshaft).

Thrill seekers will find an array of options to customize their dream car, including IRS (Independent Rear Suspension), a limited slip differential, and other special optional features. Also, the 427 Street upgrade package will remain available for fans of the classic "street" look. All Hurricanes are manufactured with a precision steel frame and race suspension, so there is no use for a “donor car”.

For more options and pricing information, interested enthusiasts are encouraged to contact Hurricane Motorsports at 888.99.THRILL.

Steve, They never had any cars in the first place. This is a new company operating under the previous owners name. This is their first run of cars. The idea was to just put a note out that if you are part of the Hurricane group and want one of the first cars, they will make sure you get one of the first ones.

Just for clarification:

Hurricane Motorsports is a brand new company based in Iowa and owned by Scranton Manufacturing. They purchased the body and frame tooling from the Securities and Exchange Commission, who seized them earlier in 2009 in a securities fraud case from the now-defunct Hurricane Motorports of Arlington, Texas. In its few months of business Hurricane Arlington did not ever produce or sell a single car. They had purchased the tooling and molds from the original Hurricane Motorsports of Missouri, who produced 122 cars before closing. The body molds were originally taken directly from a CSX car by Jerry Connally when he formed Component Craft Cobras in Dallas in 1990.

Under Scranton, the new Hurricane entity agreed to maintain the Hurricane name brand, among other reasons, because several people from the current owner base asked that they continue/preserve the brand. Following a number of revisions and imprevements they are now producing an initial run of cars and planning full production to commence in early 2010.

I had a very nice conversation with Steve Sinnard today and i think Hurricane motorsports i going to do just fine in the Kit Car industry. They seem to have a plan for the new year and have invested the time and manpower to make whatever changes/improvements that former customers have addressed and they have developed a repor with past owners that will help to propel the company to the for front of our hobbie............congrats. to Hurricane Motorsports...........you have my support.
