Default 2013 London Cobra Show Raffle Car by Hurricane Motorsports

Hurricane Motorsports has been selected to build the London Cobra Show Raffle Car for 2013. We are very excited to work with the Ohio Cobra Club to promote the car and support The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with proceeds from the raffle. We want this to be the best selling raffle car yet and tickets will be on sale very soon. You can look for updates on the Ohio Cobra Club, London Cobra Show or Hurricane Motorsports websites:

Ohio Cobra Club | Home

Hurricane Motorsports - 427 Roadsters

The car will be Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes and the Ohio Cobra Club will be touring to several car shows to exhibit the car and sell raffle tickets. We will be posting pictures of the build showing the progress from start to finish.

The winner will be announced at the London Cobra Show on June 22, 2013. We appreciate everyone's support to make this the best selling raffle car ever and the effort to support The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. And a big thanks to the Ohio Cobra Club for organizing such a great event to support such a great cause!

Hello my name is Dusty and I am the builder for Hurricane. The engine and transmission will be done by the Ohio Cobra Club members but I believe it will be a 351W with a TKO 500 transmission. It has a 9" Ford rear. Will be posting pictures soon.

The Hurricane is such a good looking car that I think it needs to be built as close to a real one as possible. Big Block FE motor, Toploader tranny, Knock off wheels and Jag rear IRS suspension with some Billboards mounted on it then top the whole thing off with some Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White paint!

I agree about the great looks of the Hurricanes, thats why I bought one

But I think the point of the raffle car is to raise money for a worthy cause, in this case cystic fibrosis. The 351W is a more economical power plant, so the car costs less to build, hence there are more proceeds from ticket sales to donate to the charity. Building an all-out original FE vs. the smallblock would take $15k+ out of the charity fund.

But then the argument could be made that a more original replica would generate more ticket sales ... so what do I know ...

Default Frame

Here is the Hurricane race ready performance tube steel ladder frame. The London car's frame has been powdercoated black and is pictured in the shop along with our factory car and two bodies in the background.

Here is a link to the interactive 3D model of the Hurricane frame and additional details on the website.

This is a fairly good picture of our front suspension. It is all new components including a mustang II rack and pinion. More photos to come.

The Hurricane front suspension has always been one of the big attractions for me. The crossbracing for the upper shock mounts looks like it would make for quite a stable assembly

SO glad Hurricane is getting a shot at the raffle car...plan on buying a few tickets, myself....

...now, if Hurricane would only offer a 289 model.....

Cheers!

The Hurricane is so good looking, even after 6 years I still go out in the garage, pull the cover off and just stare at it......Damm what a fine machine!
I'm driving it to Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday.

Tickets for the 2013 London Cobra Show raffle car are now available on line at www.londoncobrashow.com. This will be a fine car and a great addition to any garage. All proceeds go to a very worthwhile and deserving charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We are cruising for a cure! Thanks for your support !
Hurricane Motorsports would like to wish a happy Thanksgiving to everyone and while sitting around fat and happy don't forget to get your tickets!
