I created a new website for the club at Texas Cobra Club with a forum in an attempt to drag folks off social media. Its a slow, painful process to get folks to let go of Farcebook and migrate to the new website/forum.
FWIW, their fb page is https://www.facebook.com/HurricaneRoadsters if you want to peruse. Its public, signup not required.

I once had a person say that they had missed me at the big meeting. I said I'd not seen any notice. They said "it was on facebook". I said "oh, is that next door to Alpha Centauri"? (The reference went over their head.)
I don't do facebook. I do have a facebook account because my slot machine game uses facebook as a place to store my game "points". I posted right on the page that "I don't do facebook, game only, don't try to friend me or send notices as this account is ignored". People still try. When they ask in person I said "didn't you read it"? It is in this way I found my sister doesn't follow instructions. Oh well.

Any further word on the new Hurricane Cobra venture? If anything further was posted in here I must have missed it.

Hurricane update
Hurricane progress – you may have seen the recent post by Hurricane of their first frame on Facebook. You can see the post here
Have to hand it to these guys. Everyone knows there are some issues with the fixture for the frame that caused some build issues. They built a frame on a fixture table to verify the drawings and make the necessary corrections rather than continue with the same old problems. Not the easiest path but they have addressed the problems. I am inspired by the way they are attacking this ‘move’.
They are also completing a car as a roller for one of the previous customers. What better way to learn of the issues and satisfy a customer at the same time?
I had an opportunity to visit them and the new facility last month and was duly impressed. I think our brand is in good hands – let me correct that – Better hands. Look forward to the future.
Paul
ps: don't be alarmed, the front tube cross-braces haven't been installed yet and the cross-tube in front of the X frame is sole for handling rigidity until the frame is finished. This particular frame was built for a small block

Paul
the link works perfectly for me. Takes the view to FaceBook and to the Hurricane Roadster page. Scroll down to view the post
This is the full link
https://www.facebook.com/HurricaneRoadsters
I can't say if you have to have a FaceBook account or be logged in to FaceBook to make it work. (Edited link to allow access to unsubscribed users)

Those links don't work for me either (I am another non-social media user, but that has no bearing on getting at the provided url). However a quick trip to Google with a search for "facebook, hurricane, roadsters" yields this url, with no credentials necessary to access:

Whatever happened to the first car Dean Lampe built? Was that 1001?

If I remember correctly, the first one Dean built became Hurricane's demo car. It got lost in the first sale of Hurricane to the Austin, Tx guys.

Sam gets 45% on his post.
1) Dean's first car was HM1002, the second car. It was sold back to Hurricane and became the demo car they used.
The first car, HM1001 was purchased/built by Ken Pauley however my records indicate he doesn't have it anymore. The current owner is unknown
2) HM1002 was part of the Dallas/Ray-Chris White fiasco. (Dallas area, not Austin)
It didn't transfer to Lake City so we can only assume someone purchased it before the assets were confiscated. The owner has never spoken up. Maybe in Texas, hidden somewhere?
