Hi Ken,
Thanks for the info. I'm really glad to hear you like your kit. I like the body shape too. That was one of the factors in making my decision to purchase a Hurricane along with good reports from other Hurricane owners like yourself. I also like the completeness of the kit and the quality parts used in it. I talked to Mike yesterday to get some details. He spent a lot of time going over all the questions I had. He made me feel much more comfortable with my choice in kits. I'm still a little undecided between the street version and the SC. I need to decide quickly because I'd like to get it ordered next week. This is my first Cobra and I am really looking forward to the build. Thanks again for the info on your kit.

Mike

P.S. If you have any pics of your Cobra you should try to post them in your gallery. I would love to see it. I'm sure there are a lot of others that would interested too.

Default Hurricane 1007

Mike, I would love to see a street version Hurricane. What engine and color are you thinking of? Ken

Hi Ken,
I'm doing some research on different engine/trans combos. I would like to use a T5 trans along with a 302 or 351 engine. Nothing too wild. I am looking at the GT40 Ford crate engine. Around 345 horse power. It seems like a pretty good deal for a new engine. I'm not really up to date on Ford stuff (I've been working on Chevy's too long) so I'm trying to find out what works and what doesn't. If I go with the GT40 I need to find out what kind of pulley/water pump setup is required, fuel pump (mechanical or electric), if the flywheel that comes with it will work, intakes etc. I'm still a little undecided on the street or SC versions. As for the color I think I'm going to go with a blue. The last few cars I've had have been red so I'm ready for change. How about yours? What engine are you using and your choice of colors? If your using a small block is it an early engine or a later model?

Mike

Mike, I added a picture in my clubcobra.com file. I did a 390FE with a C6 Auto. Probably paint it solid red. ken

Ken, It really looks good. The 390 with 2x4's is really nice. I'll bet your making some serious HP. I like the original looks of the FE engines in the Cobra's. I thought about going with an FE engine, probably the 390, but ended up deciding on a small block for various reasons. I hope down the road I won't regret my decision. Looks like you have been doing a great job on your build. I noticed your attention to detail, which in my opinion, can make the difference between a nice car and a great car. Good job! I always like red, its one of my favorite colors. The chevelle I just sold was red, my 31 roadster is red, and my everyday car is red, so I need a change. I'm tkinking of a lighter shade of blue like Chuck's, who posted earlier in this thread. What kind of wheels do you have and tire size? I'm thinking of the Vintage Wheels with pin drive adaptors etc. Anyway, thanks for the pic, your car really looks great. Keep us posted on the progress.

Mike
