Default Autolite 3924 plugs discontinued?

I just got back from Autozone where I was told that Autolite 3924's were no longer available. WTF? If true, what is now recommended instead of the 3294's? All they had available were motorcraft plugs cross-referenced to the 3924.

They haven't gone anywhere.

100+ in stock. How many you want?

Brent:

Better hang on to them. I've just pickewd up 8 NGK's (I have the number out in the shop) at a different parts store. Their reference data also showed the 3294 plugs were obsolete and discontinued. When these NGK's get changed I'll come a barkin'

Confirmed discontinued on the Autolite site. The iridium equivalent is still available.

The hail stopped so I ran back out to the shop and got the NGK numbers. 7938 and BKR5E.

They are mainly for racing engines. I use them, but not for street pieces. They are harder to read on pump gas.

I still haven't found where the 3924's are discontinued. All of my suppliers show 100's and 100's in stock.

Upon further investigation, it appears the Nickel core version of the 3924 has been discontinued. The copper core plug lives on!

The online Summit store shows to have "more than 16" of both the nickel and copper core versions of the 3924 while Jegs shows to have the copper core version "in stock".
