Spense's 289 in Kentucky
For the past year or so a Unique 289 FIA has been on and off Cobra Country for sale by Spence.
The add reads:
Unique Motorcars 289FIA Cobra replica. 351 Windsor, balanced & ported, Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock manifold, dual point Mallory and VDO gauges. Rollbar, sidepipes, Dunlop tires, American Torque Thrust wheels, Jaguar rear end, MGB front end, vinyl seats, B&M shifter, C-6 transmission, brass windshield, bumper jacks.
The single picture is not very complementary to the car.
Does anyone have any information - good or bad - about the car???
Thanks in advance
Scott
I posted this in the Deep south club area as well

If this car is the one I remember, I think if you do a search on CC you will find a discussion about this car and the guy selling or not selling it, as the case may be. Caveat Emptor!

It looks as bad as my ex mother in law. Rode hard - put up wet - and hosed down for the photo shoot.

Heard bad things about the car. Call the Weavers and asked them. They seem to know history of each of their cars. I called the guy myself once and he said he couldn't talk now, but to call him back in a 1/2 hour. I called back and got the answering machine. Never got him again. I have heard that when anyone called him interested, he acted like he didn't want to really sell (maybe you should not really advertise it!).
