Default DCNF setup

I have an Inglese Quad DCNF set on my Cobra and a few years ago when when we had it on the rolling road the guys found that it was VERY sensitive to fuel pressure. Setting a pressure that supplied enough fuel at WOT gave a very rich tickover to the extent that they could see a haze of unburnt duel above the carbs. Surely fuel pressure should not effect the mixture within quite wide limits. Any ideas?
