Default fyi if you google jbl cobra

and you click on the header to open the website you could get a nasty little virus that tries to invade your computer.

if you type in jblmotor.com the website comes up fine.

it is a nasty little f****r so be careful!

Vector1,

I think that you got your virus from some other web site. If you look at the below screen capture you can see that the JBL link is clean.

The whole site is checked daily by AVG for malware, viruses, etc. and has stayed clean so far.

hey richard

i used to use avg until i had a problem about 5 days ago and switched to windows one care. i think this is where my problem might have originated. i can access the jbl website through google and get whatever is riding on it, i then went to work where they use something else just to make sure and googled jbl cobra and the same thing happened. not sure what they use at work but they have 8 stations and never have problems. i tried to download the virus at work and it wouldn't let me because whatever they use for protection is better than what i have at home, maybe including the avg i had. at work i couldn't get out of it and would completely close the window and all tabs before i could do anything.

i could be wrong, but the same thing happened two different places.

this is the name of the bug avg_880865

it looks like an avg product but comes up with a windows icon and some misspelled wording.

i just tried another search on the above and something different came up then what came up at work last night so maybe it has changed or maybe avg has found it and implemented a fix or maybe google has fixed it.

if i am incorrect my apologies and this thread prob should be deleted.

talk to you later, i have some new parts for the jbl.

mark

Vector1,

That is a serious looking bit indeed.

I would go with a forward facing unit with the air cleaner in the front of the car.

That way you would not have a big air cleaner sitting right there messing with your sight line.

As to the Malware thing. I was wrong. It keeps coming back and screwing with many of us with fairly public and popular sites. Just ask Brent....

Please understand that this is a real problem that has been going around since late November and I have seen it on the JBL site and many others.

The hosting company that I use scans all of their sites 3 times a day for just this problem and deletes the HTAccess file that causes the search problem.

And it seems that they find this problem quite often. Sorry....

I thought that the fix was in and it seems that the cretins who do this stuff just keep at it. I do not understand what is in it for them.

If you need to get rid of the bullfeces that you may get from this here is a link to the fix. (It does work and does not give you any other problems.)

thanks richard. maybe some day the weather will improve and i'll get the jbl out!

that is pretty close to how far the air filter is going to stick out the top. the throttle body is lightly touching the outer skin of the hood. i have an offset dropbase i'm going to try to clear the throttle cable, if that doesn't work i can use only a 1" drop base. the offset dropbase because it sits so low i've heard will lose hp so i'm giving up something there.

too bad the virus can't be sent back with additional material! i think if these people were found they would be beat to a bloody pulp.
