Default 427 Side-oiler engine for 11,000.00

I have a 68 427 side-oiler block that is .040 over with 3 sleeves to repair the block where it had cracked on the deck. The block has never been cracked or welded anywhere else. Never windowed or lost a rod in the bottem end.
I have a 428 CJ crank and rods with Aries pistons for the block that I plan to build complete ao that I know that everything is ok. The block has been pressure checked as well.
We are going to sell this as a complete engine of the dyno, tested and tuned ready to go for a bargain. I have the Dove/Comp Cams roller rockers, hydraulic roller camshaft with crane lifters, aluminum front cover, new damper, Edelbrock water pump, our Edelbrock CNC stage 2 heads with a Ford police interseptor intake. I will have a Canton T-style oil pan with melling HV oil pump, new Deamon carburetor, new Unilite distributor with MSD 8mm wires. I will allow 150.00 for valve covers as well, this will cover the FordRacing or Shelby valve covers.
Engine complete and ready to install in car. All you will need to add will be the starter, alternator and brackets, pullys with your coil. Most all of these parts are new except the block, crank, rods, front cover and the intake.
I am offering this one time special to move some inventory and build someone a nice little engine. This engine should make between 500 to 550HP and tourqe depending on camshaft and compression used on pump gas with no problems.
The price of 11,000.00 gets this complete deal. Thanks Keith Craft

Did the 427 S.O.'s come with or without hydraulic lifters when new?

Both ways.

Keith ,
Have you had any experience with Dove Tunnel Port heads, or their heads with the raised exhaust ports? What do their ported intake tunel port heads flow compared to the ported edelbrocks? What do their ported raised exhaust ports flow compared to the ported exhaust edelbrocks?

Sideoiler production started in March of '65. Like the preceding centeroilers, they had solid lifters. In '68 Ford toned down the 427 by offering it with Hydraulics (down to 390 HP).

This was the phase-out and last year of the 427 as offered in cars. The 428 would be the replacement (introduced in '66). It was much cheaper to build due to less stringent production techniques.

Default Dove heads

We have done one set of the raised exhaust heads and that was on a high riser head. You can get more flow out of these heads on the exhaust. The Tunnel Port heads can be made to flow real good above 500 lift. You have decide if you are building for race or street when you decide on the heads. I have had some problems with the Dove heads in the past but they seem to be better now. It takes for ever to get them. we waited for over a year for the high riser heads we got from him.
Blue Thunder called today and have their new heads cast and have done the machine work to them and they are sent to heat treat right now. Their new raised port head should be neat. I am loking for flow numbers in the 400/300 CFM range on these heads. I think they are going to be the best HP head and will be available with a kidney new style chamber for more power yet. Thanks Keith Craft
