New Shelby CNC Head Program Ready
We have been working on a new CNC program for the Shelby heads that will work real well between .200 to .600 lift on both intake and exhaust.
This is the lift range that most of the Shelby heads are or will be used with in most cases. These ports were designed with the best performance in mind for camshafts like flat-tappets and mild rollers like most guys are running in there Cobras.
We have the intake flow at the following[ .300/221, .400/280, .500/321, .600/342] and the exhaust at[.300/175, .400/220, .500/240, .600/258]. Flow numbers are on a Super Flow 600 at 28" of water on a .4.250 bore fixture. The exhaust was flowed with a 2x6 pipe.
We can take in your current heads and freshen with new CNC ports and custom valve job with the back-cut on all of the valves needed. You may need to change the intake valve to achieve the same flow numbers as we have here. Most exhaust valves will work fine. Need to get away from a tulip style intake valve.
These heads should be worth about 50HP over the stock out of the box Shelby heads. These heads can be purchased with the CNC porting from Shelby or ourselves. The porting, valve job and valve back cutting can be purchased for 1500.00. We can figure a complete head price to suite your needs but they will be in the 3500.00 range assembled and cc'd ready to go.
The heads were designed around a 3/8 stem 2.19 intake and 1.75 exhaust. If we go to a 11/32 stem 2.25 and 1.75 valve we will gain some extra flow. Please call with your needs on all of your FE parts.
Thanks Keith Craft
