crank girdle
Hey Keith, Do you use a crank girdle on your 408 engines? I read somewhere that engines using production blocks that make over 500HP should use crank girdles. Thanks.

Questions for KC
Hey Keith
Should I use a girdle on a 354/ 5.0 with close to 450 plus ( I hope ) HP? I have see ads for alum, steel and tool steel main girdles. Which is the best? Dwight Coach is going to install the 461ci you build for him Sunday. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN0658.JPG 599.5 HP and 619 tq http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...m/DSCN0657.JPG |
Main Girdle
We have run the 351W blocks up to 600HP without the girdles without any problems. We will use one if the customer plans on running nos or a blower. I do not feel that in a 500HP situation that you will have not any problems. Thanks, Keith
