Default Parking brake fouling wheel

Hi,
Has anyone else had problems with the parking brake levers fouling on the inside of the rear wheels on their Kirkham and if so, have you found a satisfactory solution?
Initially, the lever rubbed on the inside of the wheel, which has scoured a groove all the way around. By using thinner washers, I was able to get the lever to just clear, but now the spring between the levers rubs on the edge of the disk and there isn't sufficient room to find a happy medium.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

take a file and remove some material on the very edge of the brackett.

mine was only rubbing a fraction of an inch and it started after I took the wheels off the first time. very tight tolerances

Paul,

Yes the tolerances are very tight. Unfortunately the tolerances on the rims are not so tight. This is further compounded by our customers wanting the biggest rotors they can get. The original rear rotor diameter is 11.2 and we are now using an 12.2 inch rotor. This helps in braking performance; but makes the brake package very tight.

If the e-brake caliper is left on and driven in reverse, the rotor torques the e-brake caliper out far enough that it can then catch on the rim. This in turn tweaks the caliper out enough so it will drag on the rim.

You will need to loosen the caliper just a little bit and tweak the caliper back. Of course you will then need to retighten your caliper. You will also need to dress up the caliper arms.

I had to "dress" mine about 1/8" on the farthest outside edge near the pivot/spring. The outboard side was the worst as the wheels narrow a bit as you get closer to the hub.
