Oil cooler lines. Can you fit a 12 AN?

I asked this in the main section. I then thought I should ask it here after someone said routing through the metal is the problem. I don't want to cut any holes larger. To me the Kirkham filter mount and the block mount have 1/2 inch holes in them. Therefore I thought the 10 AN was sufficient. I figure the restriction is the munts anyway. I my theory correct?

All of our big block FE oil lines are dash 12.

Bigger is better in this idea

ng8264723 You have to remember that the fittings are smaller that the lines. The line my be 1/2" but the fittins could be 3/8" ID where the oil comes through. #10 IMO is bare min. size for any 427-428 motor in a street car that gets a little abuse. Get into these 482 and up monsters, #12 with hiflow fittings. Remember every fitting cuts flow of the oil down a little. I am going to #12 with next motor. What may be saving the motor in the car now is the 3 quart accusump that helps keep oil pressure and flow up on road courses. I do also run high oil pressures too. Rick L. Ps if your car is drilled for #10 lines, see not problem with putting #12 lines in. You may have to install the fittings after the lines are run. Measure 3 times and cut once. Give a 1/4" extra after getting the correct length.%/ The lines don't stretch.;):) Rick L. Ps will the block to the motor take #12 fittings or #10's? My need to get new block. Hope the main port in the block was opened up for more flow.

Rick,
Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure that I could fit 12's. David cleared that question up for me. I wasn't going to start cutting the alum to make 12's fit
