I haven't ordered the block yet, so it could be a while. I want to get everything else on the car completed so that i do not end up with too many things going at once and too many parts sitting around. As soon as i have the car sitting on all fours and the electrical completely sorted out, i will order the Aluminum FE Block and TKO trans. It shouldn't be too long and I hope to have an engine in the car and running by late December. We shall see. I need a lot more parts and there is still so much to be done.

Yes definately a work of art! I like the little touches like the on / off on the Hub and the safety latch so they don't back off.

Fun getting the differential in there isn't it? You should try it with an Iron unit, I still have nightmares of trying to finesse a 130# diff in there.

Is that a neat Dana 3rd member, 44 I presume. Is that an off the shelf Kirkham unit?

Thanks, I noticed the "DANA" stamp on the rear cover, it is a 44 unit...yes? What kind of torque is it rated for?

As much as you can throw at it in a 2200 lb car. I tortured mine with 600HP and had no problems.

If David does not have one of our 482C.I. all aluminum FE setting around give us a call. We will be glad to help you with the parts or do a complete build for you.
Thanks, Keith Craft

KC-I have the 482 stroker crank and rods, but need the FE block and pistons still. I have seen your items on ebay. Do you offer a block fully machined and ready to be assembled or do you only sell the blocks ready for final bore and hone?

My Kirkham has different half shafts. Where did you get yours? Mine doesn't have the cv like boots

I believe they're the new style from Kirkham and use CV joints rather than the original UJ's and are as a result of developments on the billet car.
I'm sure they're very clever, but I like my clunky old UJ's.

Spoke with Thomas today ( unrelated ) and the new style is CV' .
However, -=-= they also have a compelling pumpkin offering , if you are among those with popped or pooped pumpkins.
--it being close to halloween, I couldnt resist.

Correct, all of the parts for the suspension came from Kirkham, including the differential and half axles. And, after dealing with latches etc from other companies that do not fit, all other parts from here on out will come from Kirkham as well.

One of these days, if my car ever does make it back up to Utah, then I'll getting all the latest and greatest upgrades, such as the CV joints, directly from the Kirkham factory.
I would plan to get there, and have the work done, just in time to try out the new CV joints at Miller Motorsports Park on one of those famous Kirkham track days.

I found out yesterday that the forged crank i received is not the 4.25 stroke that i thought, but instead a 4.37 stroke crank. So, it looks like i will have a 511 427fe Shelby motor instead of a 482.
