Default Kirkham at Le Mans

Hi,
I've just come back from a fantastic weekend at the Le Mans Classic with a bunch of other guys in Cobras.
On the Saturday morning, we got the chance to get a couple of laps in on the full circuit. If you've never been to Le Mans, it is a wonderfully evocative place, with so much history.
Here are a couple of link to some in-car video. There were too many people around of widely varying skills to go really quickly, but it was great fun all teh same.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Paul

Nice gaggle of "batwings" at about 2:30 on the film.
Sweet sound-you can almost see the crank rotating.

Not sure which is more intoxicating, the video or the audio?

Damn I miss my Kirkham

Were you ever able to go flat out , what was the cost, and no need for Viagra when you did this. Just awesome.

Not really. We were sent out on groups with a pace car in the lead and unfortunately, we were close to the front of our group, which meant we very quickly caught the pace car up. You can see at the start of the second lap that we slowed down to gain some space so that we could have a run up the start straight.
It was just the luck of the draw because other people further back had an almost clear track and could go as fast as they wanted.

Maybe next time.

Thanks for sharing a great experience. I really like seeing and hearing classic cars in motion. It transforms them from a pieces of art to nearly living and breathing things. I had a similar feeling when I drove in the Hotrod Power Tour a month ago.
