Speedo wiring question

Hello,

I just received my replacement Speedo gauge from Kirkham last week and the new gauge has a single yellow wire that my old gauge did not have. Everthing else is the same.

Can anybody tell me where the yellow wire goes?

Only a guess but I would think that it is for illuminating the guage when the lights are on.
