They have an abundance of personalities to create the necessary storyline. I can see Steve stealing the show.

Plus a few colorful customers who are always polite, coolheaded, reasonable and undemanding. And also some customers like me...

Hi,
Is there an update on this car? I've been looking forward to seeing the finished article, but everything seems to have gone very quiet.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul, I completed the flip-top and am finishing the registration process. I still have some sorting out to do. The electric power steering pump didn't work well and I'm fabricating a mechanical pump. I'm using an Appleton rack and it was not compatible with the electric system. This build was a blast. David and Tom K. did a great job. After blowing up my Roush 451 in my other Kirkham a couple of weeks ago, I'm upgrading the cammer oil pan to a KMP billit. I decided not to go with a dry sump on the cammer just yet. I will post some pictures and video soon. C-Ya Darren

Wow! I gotta come by and check it out.
I'll trade you for an Aviaid with the finish slightly peeling?

Rodney, the Aviaid is authentic. It makes our Kirkham's "more original."
A beautiful oil pan by Kirkham. If I had a polished Cammer, I'd have to get one too.

You know I deploy for a year or so and when I come home the whole Cobra world has changed. Now I am forced to go see the new Kirkham experience for myself.

I took the flip-top to the 50th anniversary track day at Pomona 4/20/2012. Here is the video. Change to 1080HD for better quality. Enjoy.. Darren

Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Take it easy on that cammer until you get it broken in.
I still think that's one of the coolest cars I've ever seen.
How about posting some more pictures of the tilt front?

I'm sure old news, I read where the SOHC Cammer blew up, Darren replaced it with a DOHC Boss Coyote motor...He did some cam work, and was considering using an LS7 motor, thank God he used a Ford...Even if it is a Coyote...

Cammer
I would not say that the engine blew up, it broke a timing chain and bent a few valves. It has had a new chain installed and the few valves that were bent replaced and it is going again.
A 427 SOHC engine is probably not the best engine to be road racing with and I think Darren went with something a little more user friendly for that. We also have better chains now than the one that broke.
Thanks, Keith Carft
